12/3/2025 3:24 am
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Your student will take the TSI Assessment (TSIA2.0) next semester. This exam is being administered at no cost to families.
What is the TSIA?
The TSI Assessment (TSIA) is the result of the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) mandated by the Texas State Legislature. The assessment is designed to determine whether students are ready for entry-level college coursework in the areas of English Language Arts Reading (ELAR) and mathematics.
Before the test:
● Students will learn about the TSIA2.0
● Students will take a pre-assessment
● Students will complete a practice essay and/or practice exam
When successfully completed, students will be considered TSI met (college ready) in ELAR and/or math. The TSIA2.0 is being administered on campuses between January 26 and February 13, 2026, at no cost to students.
Students enrolled in Algebra II, Algebra II Honors, Geometry, Geometry Honors, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus will take the TSIA2 Math on January 28 and January 29 in their math classes.
All Jasper 10th graders will take the TSIA2 for ELA on February 12, 2026. If students would like to retest, that is available at a cost of $7.00.
Your student will receive additional information at school, including an overview and sample questions, as well as how to have access to multiple practice resources. Please encourage your student to engage with practice material and take the test seriously, as it is the next step for students on their college readiness pathway.
